X. Ho Yen's Author Newsletter (20 Oct 2022)
Greetings Dear Subscribers to X.HoYen's Author Newsletter.

Mitigation Strategy for MSD’s Amazon Release
Amazon has acknowledged receipt of my copyright certificate, but it’s been 2 days and they said they’d get back to me within 5 days. The $2.99 promo price won’t last forever, but I’ll see about extending it beyond the originally planned 24 Oct date.
I think the best move for MSD’s Amazon release is to just let everyone “off the leash”, so to speak.
If you were planning on buying MSD in print form, either for yourself or as a gift(s), definitely don’t wait for me to give you a time to do that. HOWEVER, through IngramSpark’s retail front end I’m able to offer the hard cover at a significantly lower price than Amazon’s full retail listing. (no difference in price for the soft cover) The best thing for MSD’s chances to get noticed by Amazon’s exposure algorithm is for all sales to go through Amazon, but I can’t ask anyone to pay that full retail price for the hard cover. And if you’ve already done so and feel any sense of being cheated, let me know and I’ll send you the $9 difference. I don’t want any unhappy subscribers!
The eBook may never become available on Amazon, but it might the moment I send this newsletter. I can’t ask you to delay any longer. You have other eBook purchasing options.
As previously noted, all your current purchase options can be found in the X.HoYen Author Store here or at GrandUnificationMonastery.com here.
I’ll let you know when the Amazon eBook situation is resolved, one way or the other. It would still be great if anyone with motivated sci-fi-reader contacts (those likely to make a purchase) could find it in your heart to point them to the MSD Amazon page. But as a reminder, every page visit that does NOT lead to a sale actually works against us in this effort to get the help of Amazon’s exposure algorithm.
Thanks for sticking with me during this long (and frustrating) process!
Standard stuff
Please do share my URL with fellow realism-based sci fi fans, especially anyone who enjoyed Weir’s The Martian, Older’s Infomocracy, Stephenson’s Cryptonomicon, Mandel’s Station Eleven, or Corey’s The Expanse. I'm convinced Minimum Safe Distance would appeal to the same audience, because I wrote it for me and *I'm* in that audience.
Thanks for your support!
